About Me - Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist

About Me

I’m a qualified Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist with a passion for helping people reduce pain, recover from injury, and improve movement.

My journey into Soft Tissue Therapy began with a personal experience. In December 2016, I ruptured my L4–L5 intervertebral disc while training in the gym. Almost overnight, everyday life became extremely difficult. My leg below the knee became numb, and even getting out of bed each morning meant crawling because of the pain and restricted movement.

Around two to three months after the injury, I visited a Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist. By that stage, I had already seen a chiropractor and a physiotherapist, but for me personally, nothing was as effective as the hands-on treatment I received from the Soft Tissue Therapist.

I noticed a difference almost immediately. The treatment reduced tension throughout my body and enabled me to begin my rehabilitation without feeling as restricted by pain and stiffness. Initially, I received treatment twice a week before gradually reducing the frequency as I recovered. Even today, I continue to have a sports massage every three to four weeks as part of my ongoing maintenance.

The treatment itself wasn’t the complete solution, but it gave me the freedom to move, stretch, strengthen my core, and progress through my rehabilitation with greater confidence. It completely changed my perception of hands-on therapy and showed me how powerful Soft Tissue Therapy can be when combined with the right rehabilitation and exercise.

Living with this injury, together with my passion for health and fitness, inspired me to learn more about the human body and how movement, rehabilitation, and manual therapy can help people recover from pain and injury. This led me to complete the BTEC Level 5 Professional Diploma in Soft Tissue Therapy.

When I first enrolled on the course, I had no intention of opening my own clinic. My goal was simply to understand the human body better. However, as my knowledge and practical skills developed, I discovered how rewarding it is to help others reduce pain, move more freely, and regain confidence in their bodies. That experience inspired me to establish my own practice.

I believe treatment should be more than just massage. Every appointment begins with a thorough assessment to understand not only where your pain is, but why it has developed. This allows me to create an individual treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs.

My treatments combine evidence-informed soft tissue techniques with rehabilitation exercises, movement assessment, and practical advice to help you achieve long-term results—not just temporary relief.

Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing persistent pain, preparing for a sporting event, or simply want to move more comfortably, my goal is to help you return to doing what you enjoy with confidence.
